1. North Country Tour (5 hours):
Driving amid the fall colors on backroads through Interlochen, Benzonia, Frankfort, Empire, Fishtown (an historic, working commercial fishing village), Leelanau, Northport, and Suttons Bay with stops at Gwen Frostic Studios, lunch in Frankfort, Sleeping Bear Dunes, and Grand Traverse Lighthouse ($5 fee).

2. Wine tasting and the Peninsula (3 hours):
Visit Bowers Harbor Vineyard for wine tasting and snacks, Mission Point Lighthouse ($4 fee), Brys Estate Vineyard and Gardens for wine tasting and snacks ($8-10) and gardens.
11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday or Tuesday
2. Downtown TC (flexible time):
Front St. shopping (specialty food and clothing shops, cafes, and restaurants) and Washington or Sixth Sts. (4 blocks south of Front St. on either side of the Boardman River) for historic homes and neighborhoods. Wander on your own, lunch where the food looks good (everywhere!).

4. Museums and Culture (4.5 hours):
Music House Museum (mechanized musical instruments, $11 fee), lunch on your own in Suttons Bay, Eyaawing Museum and Cultural Center (Ottawa and Chippewa Indian heritage, no fee).
